Purpose
KEA certifies new and renewable energy facilities that minimum levels of criteria to promote new and renewable energy facilities pursuant to the article 13 of the Act on the Promotion of the Deployment, Use and Diffusion of New and Renewable Energy and the article 21 of Framework Act on National Standards (Establishment of conformity assessment system).
Application and process of certification
- Eligible applicants: Domestic manufacturers and importers of new and renewable energy facility

Roles of certification agency and performance testing agency
- Certifying agency: New and Renewable Energy Center (affiliated agency of KEA)

- Evaluate the facilities against the test criteria
- General evaluation (factory evaluation): evaluation on raw material management, manufacturing and production, quality control, warranty
- Facility evaluation (performance test): evaluation/test on performance of the facility against detailed test criteria

- Issue certification for the facilities that meet the criteria

- Conduct follow-up measures on the certified facilities
- Performance test agency
- Test performance of the facility against the test criteria
- Issue statements of the test result
