Support Program on International Certification

Purpose
  • KEA provides supports to new and renewable energy companies who want to obtain international certification such as UL and TUV.
    UL: Underwriters’ Laboratories, Inc. (Safety testing and certification agency of the US)
    TUV: Technischer Uberwachungs Veine .e. V (Association for Technology Evaluation): Quality testing agency approved by the German government

  • KEA provides financial support for the cost of obtaining the international certification

      Wind energy DEWI-OCC ( German Wind Energy Institute - Offshore and Certification Center), GL ( Germanischer Lloyd, German Classification Society)
      Solar thermal FSEC (Florida Solar Energy Center), SRCC (Solar Rating and Certification Corporation), Solar Keymark (Solar thermal certification)

      ※ Areas of certification that do not fall under the above category are subject to a review of the Evaluation Committee

Duration of the projects

Recipient companies must obtain certificate in the same year when they received the subsidy

Eligibility

Domestic manufacturers of new and renewable energy facilities

Certification process
  • Maximum 75% of the certification costs (Maximum 100 million won per certificate)
    • Scope of the cost: Certification application fee and performance testing fee
    • Subsidy amount varies depending on the size of the subject companies
      Small and medium sized companies: max 75% of the cost
      Medium sized companies: max 50% of the cost
  • Limit of the subsidy: 2 certificates per company per year (100 million won per certificate)
