NRE Home Subsidy

Purpose

The government provides subsidies for the installation of new and renewable facilities to residential buildings. The new and renewable energy includes solar PV, solar thermal, geothermal, small wind power and fuel cell.

Legal basis

The article 27 of the Act on the Promotion of the Deployment, Use and Diffusion of New and Renewable Energy
New and Renewable Energy Center is a supervising agency who oversees the entire policy process from policy agenda setting to commercialization of technology. KEA aims to virtuous cycle of policy setting – deployment of technology – technology commercialization.

Eligibility	Individual housings, apartments
	Individual housings: Owners or persons who are expected to be an owner of existing or newly constructed housings
	Existing apartments: Owners or a representative of the resident - Hand written agreement of the resident or documents showing the decision of the resident meeting must be submitted New apartments: A representative of the constructor or a representative of the apartment under construction -This program is eligible to constructions that can be completed within the given construction time

Subsidy for towns
Eligibility	More than 10 households located in the same administrative district (more than 5 households in islands with no bridge that connects with the land) - Community facilities such as community centers or senior citizen centers are not eligible - Please contact persons in charge of new and renewable energy at municipal or local governments for this type of subsidy

Eligibility	Korea Land and Housing Corporation or local public corporations prescribed in the Local Public Enterprises Act
