Purpose
KEA fosters private rental service of solar PV. This program enables service providers to offer installation, operation and maintenance services and customers to use solar PV energy without having to bear the burden of making upfront investment or obtaining government subsidies

Overview

Service providers rent solar PV facilities to household and the households pay some portion of the money they saved from the reduced electricity bill for the rental service fee.

- Customers: Sum of rental fee and electricity bill is less than 80% of what they used to pay for electricity

- Rental service provider: The service providers gain profit from the rental fee and sales of REP*. They provide maintenance service.
*REP: Renewable Energy Point (certificate of renewable energy generation)

Eligibility
Houses with monthly electricity consumption more than 350 kWh for the last 1 year (for the 1 year that ends with the month prior to the month when the rental service request was made)
